Why is LOT portrayed as ‘RIGHTEOUS’ & ‘JUST’ in the bible?

Dude offered up his daughters to be brutally gang raped by an aggressive mob to save 2 random strangers (he didn’t know they were messengers of god at the time, even if he knew, it still won’t justify it). All to be a gracious host? Was that more important at the time than protecting his daughters as a dutiful head of the house? It’d be more righteous if he offered himself to the mob to save his household like jesus sacrificed himself to save us from hell. But he chose to save his self & his image as a gracious host

At no point in bible it says he regretted it or repented or showed remorse for it. It’s a heinous sin unless bible says subjecting daughters to violence is no sin at all. He was not punished by god either. I understand the plot armour because Abraham prayed for his safety & God gave his word.

But why does bible say he’s righteous & just? He royally failed as a father & almost subjected his daughters to brutal abuse & death (like the levite’s concubine).

Don’t say he was punished because he was later raped by his daughters. if it really happened, He wouldn’t have hesitated to kill his daughters to save his own image as a godfearing righteous man. He didn’t hesitate to sacrifice his daughters to save his image before.

Please don’t give me the following answers:

He’s not flawless – you don’t see a pedophilic Doctor & call him a flawed but righteous & just man because he saved lives.

Different times – I know, but bible is the book of god. Does God’s morals change with time?

Don’t try to judge/comprehend God’s judgement – you are asking me to stop thinking/understanding bible.

Don’t focus on justifying the above explanations or on his wife’s story & answer the main question if you can make sense of the story/moral of Lot’s life.
