What happened to books like Narnia?

As a Christian reader and writer, I’ve noticed that there’s not a lot of thoughtful compelling Christian fiction (similar to Narnia/the Wingfeather Saga) currently being published, especially in children’s/YA fiction. I was wondering if you had noticed this too and if so what sorts of themes or topics you would like to see written about? I’m thinking of starting a small press to publish these types of books and I’d love to see if there’s an actual interest or need amongst Christian readers.
