A non-Christian’s love for Christ(ians)
I am not a Christian. I am a skeptic at my core, and probably would call myself an agnostic Hindu, but I wanted to share a small story about the past couple days that I think you’ll appreciate.
My family hired a private bus company to take a large group 16 hours across the country to attend a wedding. Chatting with the bus drivers, I come to find out they’re two Christians from Kentucky/Texas. When I tell you… these are among the most humble, kind-hearted, and respectful individuals I’ve met. Christ says that the greatest among the commandments is love your neighbor, and I can see they keep that commandment with all their heart.
We stopped by a Hindu temple on the way to our destination, and even though they were unfamiliar with Hinduism and Indian culture, they were respectfully curious and came along with us as we spent some time there. Not an ounce of judgment of those who worship differently, no hatred of the unknown. Just wholehearted respectful curiosity and love. People of a different race, with different political beliefs, place of origin, region of the country, and (of course) faith, yet we were able to connect so easily. What a blessing to have met them. I respect Christians like these deeply and love Christ for having transformed them as such. God bless you all.
