I’m 34, but my mother still makes me feel guilty for wanting to hangout with men?

I’m a christian and celibate and dont have much male freinds and havent dated in years.

I expressed to my mother I wanted to hangout with guys and she keeps telling me to just hangout with my female friends and I always feel like when her tell her I want to hangout with men too it sounds like I’m telling her I want to have sex and sleep around.. It feels sinful for some reason. My mom is a strong christian is that why?
