A genuine question
Hello. I’m a 20 year old who’s been a Christian for quite a while, though it fluctuates between a devout relationship to borderline agnosticism. And I started pondering and reflecting on why people believe the Bible is true. I’m not saying it isn’t true, I mean it’s gotten pretty far historically. But the more I thought about it, the more I began to realize that the Bible is pretty much our main source of proof. And that unfortunately, isn’t enough. I can grab a notepad and a pencil and jot down the wildest, tallest tales. And then spread millions of copies around. That doesn’t make it factual. These stories of talking snakes and donkeys and the Red Sea and curing leprosy with the touch of a finger. It just seems very far fetched and if I went back in time, I struggle to see this truly happening. The last thing I want to do is offend anybody, much less God. But I truly wonder what evidence we have outside of that. I kinda need some help here, I don’t want to lose my faith. But logic dictates that some of this stuff is fictional.
