Am I seeing signs from god or just a confirmation bias?

I am a graduate student in archaeology. I love archaeology, I love the digging, and finding cool artifacts. What I don’t like is the office management, the report writing, and the little benefit I think my work provides for other people. For those that don’t know, the higher in promotions you go as an archaeologist, the more your taken out of the field and put into the office. Ive worked for 4 years for the government as an arch tech and Ive seen all of my bosses rarely if ever leave the office, and there are a GS-9, and I fear I could become like them….

Ive been thinking about other careers that help people, get to be outside, exciting job, and Ive been thinking of firefighting. I already have taken fire trainings with the forest service and did a ride along with the fire department, which only got me more interested in pursuing fire as a career. I understand the risks to my health and my life that could happen. I have been praying on this for a while, and I’ve noticed some interesting trends/patterns. So when I’m praying and asking Jesus for a sign of what I should do, the first thing I see when I watch tv is a firefighter or when I’m getting groceries, I see a firetruck. When I’m thinking of what career I should do, Ill see firefighters and fire pop up on a commercial or the movie I’m watching (I was watching some adam sandler movie). It seems whenever I pray within a short time or a few hours, I see firefighting, firetrucks, fire on tv etc. Is this a sign or am I just doing a confirmation bias?
