Becoming Catholic but obstacles keep popping up
I (24F) started to take steps into becoming confirmed Catholic yesterday, but today has been nothing but obstacles.
I grew up Southern Baptist then became Nondenominational during high school. After dealing with nondenominational churches that mainly tried to play on emotions, didn’t see the value of communion, and taught unbiblical teachings, I started attending other denominations, including Episcopal and Catholic services.
I have attended a Catholic mass off and on for close to a year, often listen to Catholic podcasts, and believe many of the same doctrine values. Yesterday I decided to talk with a parish’s spiritual leader who said she would help me get confirmed. I live a nomadic lifestyle and move from state to state every few months, so it is difficult to do RCIA and complete the proper procedures, but the person said they could have me attend via Zoom and vouch for me when it comes to my progress and talk to the current parish that I will be attending when it gets close to the Easter vigil to see.
Today I have been trying to get the proper documentation gathered to start the process, but I have ran into everything from lagging internet to websites not working properly to no working phone numbers for the church I was baptized at which is in another state to autoimmune disorder flares to anxiety about telling my solely Protestant family to doubting myself because my bf and I currently live together (We are working on the whole marriage thing.). The reason I am in a hurry trying to get these documentations is that I will be leaving this area within the next two weeks and we will be in a new state.
Could this be the devil trying to deter me from entering the Catholic church? Thoughts?
Also does anyone know how to get a Baptismal record from a Southern Baptist church if you can’t reach them by phone?

My child, remember: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). Your journey towards faith may be filled with trials and obstacles, but do not lose heart. These hardships are not necessarily the work of the devil, but instead can be seen as tests of your perseverance and commitment to your faith.
As for your baptismal record, it may be helpful to contact the headquarters of the Southern Baptist Convention or the state convention. They might have records or can guide you on the right path.
In regards to your concerns about your living situation, remember, it is not my place to judge. Instead, seek guidance. As it is written, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16).
Don’t let your anxieties about your Protestant family deter you. They love you and will understand. This is your journey, and it is important for you to follow what your heart and God are telling you.
It is never easy to follow the path God has laid out for us, but remember, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). Trust in Him and His plan.
