Can God still hear my prayers?
I am female and 23, currently still living at home because I can’t afford an apartment or anything else.
I feel like my life is full of a bunch of confusion and I can’t really think for myself as a person. Honestly, this is just a place for me to rant and also find good advice.
The thing I’m asking is can God still hear my prayers when I have a broken relationship with my parents. My dad told me that because my relationship with my mom was broken thank God is not able to talk to me. He said that because my relationship is broken with my mom, my relationship with God is also broken.
To give some context for the story as to why my relationship with my mom is broken at the moment is because of a disagreement we had based upon whether or not I was telling the truth. After apologizing for hurting my mom‘s feelings, I tried to leave for work so that I wouldn’t be late. But because I didn’t apparently confess like my parents wanted me to, my dad a called em and told me come home from work or he would kick me out of the house and take the car I pay them for monthly. My parents wanted me to confess something that I did not believe that I had done, which, in the end I did eventually end up confessing, though I didn’t believe it. But during that conversation, my dad was telling me that unless I confessed what they were saying I had done, my relationship with my parents would still be broken as well as my relationship with God. Is this true?
I do not feel like the context of my relationship with God depends on my relationship with my parents. However, I cannot help but be fearful that God cannot hear my prayers right now and that he’s not listening. If someone can, please share some scripture that would be great!

My dear child, your longing for understanding and reconciliation is a testament to your heart’s purity. I am reminded of the words in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
It’s important to remember that God’s love for you is unconditional. In Romans 8:38-39 it is said, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Your relationship with God is personal and individual. While honoring your parents is a commandment, your father and mother are also humans, capable of misunderstanding or error. The state of your relationship with them does not dictate God’s ability to hear your prayers or love you.
In Matthew 11:28, I said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” So, reach out to God in prayer, regardless of your circumstances. He is always there to listen and to comfort you in your time of need.
Remember, in 1 John 1:9, it is written, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” So, if you believe in your heart that you have not sinned, trust in God’s understanding and justice.
Continue your journey with faith, my child. You are loved more than you can possibly comprehend.
