Can I Read A Book Series That “Mocks” God?

If you’re one of those “secular media bad!” people please don’t bother commenting because we don’t share the same opinion on that and it’s pointless to change my mind on the overall concept. Just asking for clarification on this one point.

So, I have a book series that I really like. And I’m not sure if I am feeling like I should give it up because it “mocks“ God.

What I mean by this is that it portrays what I’m guessing is the Christian God so poorly that I can’t even associate it with our God outside of guessing that’s what the author meant. I believe that the author is trying to portray it as the Christian God, but it is done in such a ridiculous and weird way that I don’t think the author has ever researched Christianity outside of knowing there is a God. Honestly can’t take it seriously, mostly just makes me laugh at how bad they attempted to portrayed Him. The author portrays our God more like an angry child who didn’t get what they wanted instead of an ever loving, patient, forgiving father. For the first few books it seemed to be a fairly important part but it went from being a sidelined part of the plot to basically irrelevant. So I’m just curious on everyone’s opinion.
