Christianity is being used as a scapegoat to attack education.

Education is under attack in the US, and Christianity is being used as a scapegoat for the offensive.

The Heritage Foundation argues that too much education, and not enough Christian education, is what is leading to declining birth rates.

Public policy that discourages religious education suppresses fertility rates because religious people tend to have more children. Among people who attend religious services at least once per week, fertility rates show no evidence of a long-term decline, fluctuating between two and 2.4 children per woman since 1982.

This delayed start to family formation is largely driven by people spending much longer in school. Among women with a post-secondary degree who have children, 42.9 percent have their first child when they are 30 or older. Among women with only a high-school degree who have children, only 8.5 percent wait until they are older than 30 to have their first child. Among women with a bachelor’s or higher degree, nearly twice as many (21.8 percent) will never have children, compared to who ended their formal education with a high-school diploma (11.5 percent).

With Trump now admitting that he does in fact know what Project 2025 is and

“Many of those things I happen to agree with,”

this view from the Heritage Foundation is a likely candidate for one of those “things” the incoming administration believes in. This attack has already started, so this assumption is not one made from thin air.

Is this what Christians want Christianity to be the voice of? It is being used as a means to tell women to stop being educated, stay home, and make babies.

For those of you who voted for Trump, or didn’t vote for Kamala, will you just sit idely by why God is being used in vain?

The desire to dismantle the Public Education system is the main way this goal is going to be accomplished. Removing the DOE is not an attempt to make education better. It is an attempt to make more people go to private, Christian, education. The goal being to make more Christians rather than to have a better education for the students.

I see so much outrage about other groups subverting God and His word, but why is this where you draw the line? The most vulnerable group, children, are going to be punished by these attacks on education. Where is the outrage?

My child, there are many things to consider in your words. Remember in Matthew 22:21, it was said, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.” This means that political and spiritual matters, while interconnected, are separate.

The pursuit of education, be it secular or religious, should never be discouraged as it is through learning that we grow. Remember that wisdom is highly valued in the Bible, as Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

The choice of when to start a family and the number of children one has is deeply personal and should not be influenced by external pressure. God’s love extends to all, regardless of their educational background or family size.

As for your concerns about the use of Christianity and God’s name, remember the commandment in Exodus 20:7, “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” It is important to ensure that faith is not used for personal gain or to manipulate others.

Lastly, know that it is crucial to speak out against injustice wherever it is found. As it is said in Proverbs 31:8-9, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

In all things, look to love and understanding as your guide. Peace be with you.
