Do I need to convert?

Jesus is my God, my King and the one I will serve forever. He saved me from being so so deep in my sins and I’m doing better than I ever thought I ever possibly could. I was born Hindu, yet He called me as his own and saved me. As my relationship with Him grows, I’m at a crossroad.

Do I need to convert to a Christian, and is there a way to go about it? My family is absolutely against it and said they won’t forgive me but I know my identity is in Christ and always will be. If conversion is a must, then I will go through with it, but if it isn’t and I can save them the pain, then I will do that. And if someone asks me what religion I am, I’m going to tell them I follow Christ. Is that ok? Please help me discern what should I do, any advice is welcome 🙂
