“God makes Adam from Eve’s rib”?

I just want to preface this by saying that this is not what I believe to be true and I’m not trying to make others believe this either. I’m only curious.

I’m reading The Body Electric by Robert Becker and on page 17 it says, “God makes Adam from Eve’s rib, or vice versa in the later version.” That’s it. No context or sources or anything to allow further research to be done. Just kinda thrown in there.

Has anybody heard this claim before? What earlier “version” could he be talking about? I’m really curious about this because I’ve never heard this before.

Again I’m not trying to stir the pot or start any arguments. I just want to know where I can see with my own eyeballs what this guy is talking about. Thanks in advance!
