how do you actually hear god’s voice

some christians say you have to read only the red letters of jesus to hear his voice. others say you need to read the whole bible front to back to hear him clearly. others say you won’t hear him unless you have the holy spirit. some say his voice is in your belly. others say it’s a still small whisper in your mind. some believe you hear him when a prophet speaks. some think god uses apostles or dreams or a random verse on a page. one person will tell you the spirit will make it obvious. another will say you have to recognize his voice by being familiar with scripture. some say it has to line up with scripture exactly or it’s not god. others say god can speak new things. some say if it convicts you, it’s him. others say if it comforts you, it’s him. some say you just “know.” but what if you don’t? what if it’s confusing? what if all these people have different god frequencies but you’re stuck with static? so what now. how do you really know it’s him? how do you not get misled? how do you trust a voice when there’s too many opinions about what that voice even sounds like?
