This image is misleading and based on a poor understanding of both scripture and theology. I’ve seen it—and similar ones—used to confuse people or twist the meaning of the Bible, especially when it comes to the roles of God and Satan.

Here’s the truth: – Satan (or the devil) is not portrayed in Scripture as someone who kills people or tortures them. His primary role is as a deceiver and tempter—trying to lead people away from God, not directly killing them.

• When people argue “who’s the real villain?” based on kill counts, they’re taking scripture wildly out of context and misunderstanding both the nature of justice in the Bible and its literary structure.

• For instance, the Book of Job is a poetic and theological work—not a literal historical account in the way modern readers might assume. It’s meant to explore themes of suffering, faith, and divine justice, not to serve as a scoreboard.

• It’s also crucial to remember: God’s actions in the Bible—however difficult to understand—are portrayed within the framework of divine justice, covenant, and holiness. They’re not random acts of violence.

So please, don’t let shallow or sarcastic arguments shake your understanding. They often ignore context, theology, and literary genre—and instead aim to provoke doubt with half-truths and simplifications.
