Seek the Lord

✝️ “I Shall Return to My Lord Again” Rev. Partha Chatterjee

I do not know if rebirth is true, But if it is—I shall return, only to the Lord anew, To this earth where sunlight touches The tender layers of morning dew. The silent river flows as in days of old, Carrying within its depths stories untold— Its waters reflect the golden light of dawn, And every ray bows to the Creator’s throne.

I will not enter temples rich and grand, Where God is absent, and true devotion banned. There, the Cross lies veiled in pride and show, The blood of Christ forgotten long ago. Instead, I shall walk alone at noon’s still hour, Searching for where Jesus waits with power— Perhaps beside a leper’s trembling frame, Or cradling a poor child, whispering their name.

I’ll find the footprints marked with holy blood In the humble hut of a woman misunderstood— And see my Lord still pouring love, divine, From His wounded hands, still bleeding, still kind. I’ll carry the memory of His pain so deep, And sing His gospel of love and mercy sweet. I’ll return like the thief who hung by His side, To receive His boundless love, crucified.

I shall rise again, even after death’s breath, For death is not the end—it births life after death.
