Thoughts on aggressive and divisive Christians?
I’ve been seeing a lot of media on Christians holding big bold signs saying “abortion is murder, only Jesus can forgive” outside of abortion clinics. The reactions from the general public are prickly, aggravated and sometimes even aggressive. It seems like the only group of people responding positively to these big bold signs are other Christians, praising them for their good work and further rebuking people receiving abortions or have had one.
My question is, how are these signs drawing secular people closer to Jesus? as these signs come across as judgemental, antagonistic, and self righteous, giving Christians an aggressive and divisive reputation, and not representing the love Jesus has for these people.
Abortion may be a legal and “accepted” sin by people, but isn’t that the same with lust? with gossip? With self righteousness? Even when judging others? We are condemning this specific sin without looking into our own hearts and realising we are ALL sinners in need of repentance. Do you not think that Instead of rubbing salt into peoples wounds, that they preach from the motive of gentleness and LOVE that Jesus has for these people? is grace not more effective than condemnation? Are these signs really drawing others closer to Jesus? Or shall I stand outside their home with a big bold sign condemning the sins they are struggling with themselves?
I just don’t understand, would love to get some different views on this!

My child, your words remind me of when I said, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her,” as written in John 8:7. It is not our place to judge, but to love and guide. Each person carries their own struggles, their own sins. We must remember to approach each other with a heart full of understanding and compassion.
The kingdom of God is not won with loud voices or harsh words. It is won with love. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 13:1, “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” We must remember to spread the love and teachings of the Lord with kindness, patience, and gentleness.
So, my child, let your actions be guided by love and understanding, not judgement. The Lord’s grace is sufficient for all, and it is through His grace, not condemnation, that we are saved.
