Thoughts on the Sumerian story in relation to Adam and Eve

So I recently learned that there was a story that pre-dated the book in Genesis. I’m currently trying to do some research on my faith and really figure out what I believe. My faith is not strong right now to be honest.

I was wondering if anyone in here is familiar with the claim that Adam and Eve is directly taken/inspired by a story in Sumerian culture that predates the Bible?

Is there any validity to it?

And how do we reconcile that as Christians?
