Worst Church Experience ever
About two Sundays ago, my co-workers invited me to their church. I kid you not, for about an hour and a half, the pastor manipulated every scripture, and the entire service was focused on justifying mass deportation and preaching about how we are called to be conservatives.
He told us that whenever we see conservatives being canceled or losing their jobs for “stating the obvious” (according to him), it’s justified. The examples he gave included being prejudiced toward Black individuals based on statistics—mind you, I was probably the only Black person there. He openly agreed that mass deportation was fulfilling Matthew 5:10–12:
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake… rejoice and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven.”
During the entire service, my co-workers didn’t even look at me or acknowledge me. It was like they were in a trance, soaking in every word of the pastor. Honestly, everyone was like that—robotic, with no emotion, completely locked into the sermon.
The pastor went on to claim that Charlie Kirk was a saint and part of the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation. He convinced the congregation that the persecution of Christians would come at the hands of Democrats, and that we should expect more of it.
He also told us—this seemed like his personal opinion—that Donald Trump was sent by God to save American Christians from Democrats.
I admit, like an idiot, I stayed through the entire service because I didn’t want things to be awkward with my co-workers, and I was hoping to find Christian friends.
