Prayer to make a way

I’m not sure what this season in life is about and what God is trying to show me but I am positive it is not coincidence. A few weeks ago my truck broke down, I got it running and it broke down again. It’s currently in the shop and we are hoping it doesn’t need a new motor and that we have to drain our savings to make it happen. Recently it’s been one thing after another. As soon as my wife and I are able to get past one thing we have another to face. Last night when the truck broke down we just got back from church, where I haven’t been in years. When I was there my grandfather asked me to start coming but I just haven’t felt much like going to church lately. I spoke to my dad and he reminded me that God may be trying to get my attention and mentioned that the branch is nothing without the vine. I opened my Bible this morning for the first time in awhile and the second chapter I read was about the fig tree that produced no fruit. I wonder if this is God showing me that I am not where I need to be and I just want to know where to start or what He has for me. This season has been hard and I’d just appreciate any prayer I can get.
