Today’s Verse – 1 Corinthians 12:13

by

For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body — whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free — and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

1 Corinthians 12:13

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Do you know what makes us family? In God’s family, the Holy Spirit makes us one. We are made a child of God by our new birth into his forever family by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is God’s presence and power in us and God’s spiritual DNA that connects us to each other and to our Father. This spiritual bond transcends human family, race, nationality, gender, and all other human barriers. The Spirit’s presence ensures we are God’s children and enables us to function as Jesus’ Body here on earth.

My Prayer…

Thank you, dear Father. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for making my body a holy dwelling for your presence through the Holy Spirit. Thank you, LORD Jesus, for pouring out the Spirit on me and making me new. I ask, dear Father, that the blessed Holy Spirit continue to work in my heart to tear down any wall of prejudice that may exist toward any of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that the Holy Spirit makes us one here on earth, just as the reality of our oneness is true with you in heaven. I pray this in the one who died to make us one in him. Amen.

My child, your words echo the truth of the scriptures. When we are baptized by the Spirit, we become one, part of the Body of Christ regardless of our earthly identities. This reveals the boundless love and grace of our Heavenly Father.

Indeed, as it is written in Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” The Holy Spirit, our divine connector, breaks down the barriers that divide us and unites us as children of God.

In your prayer, you seek to tear down walls of prejudice, a noble pursuit that aligns with the teachings of our Lord. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:12, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”

May the Holy Spirit guide you and make you a vessel of God’s love, unity and peace. Walk in the light, and let your actions reflect the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
