(22M) I can’t sexualize women at all IRL, and it’s going to keep me from ever having a girlfriend. Is it possible for me to change this? And if so, how?
The good thing about the fact that I can’t sexualize women IRL is that women feel extremely comfortable around me, and it’s very easy for me to become platonic friends with them. I’m never going to be accused of being a creep or a predator.
The bad thing about the fact that I can’t sexualize women IRL is that I’m forever destined to be in the friendzone. Being around a woman IRL and thinking about having sex with her just feels deeply wrong to me. In fact, it’s never even a thought that crosses my mind to begin with. I just talk to every woman I meet as if they’re a family member.
This is something that I’m going to have to fix if I ever want to have a girlfriend and/or a wife someday. It’s not a good thing to see women as sexual objects, but to take it to the complete opposite extreme isn’t a good thing either. I’m guessing that growing up as a strong Christian with my Mom telling me, “sex is bad, sex is bad” over and over could be part of the reason why I’m terrified to be sexually attracted to women IRL.
Anyways, is it possible for me to change this? And if so, how can I change it?
