Americans, is your church doing anything to step up & fill the food aid gap?

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has posted a notice on its website saying federal food aid will not go out Nov. 1, raising the stakes for families nationwide as the government shutdown drags on.
So my question is, are American churches—is your church—taking significant steps to help fill this need?
Do you have advice for churches that want to do more and aren’t sure where to start? Anyone here work in mutual aid or for community food programs who can share some expert tips?
