Conservative Christians: Does the Leviticus verse mean gay people should be executed, and if not why not?

Full disclosure, I suspect I know the shape of the most common answer people would give, but I am here testing my hypothesis. There is no gotcha or argument in the offing, While I am not a conservative Christian my point here is just to listen. I just want to hear from you. Thanking you in advance.
