Friday Devotional – Colossians 1:19

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬ And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

I love how Paul continues to point the people of Colossae back to Christ and emphasizes the reality of who Christ is and the preeminence He holds not only in the church but in all of creation. Our Lord and Savior Jesus is the head of the church. He is the beginning of all things and is the firstborn from the dead. What reason do we have to fear or be anxious when we realize the God we serve holds all power? My prayer for us all is to truly understand who Christ is and the preeminence He holds. I pray we grow and mature on our Christian journey and continue to learn of the God we serve so we are never anxious and never fear because we know with all certainty that we are centered in God’s kingdom of love. I pray we bear much fruit because of how we live our lives as God wills and works in us for His good pleasure. I pray our light shines bright in this world of darkness because it is God who we lean on and it is God who gives us the grace to stand. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.
