Is love really love if it hides the truth?

I’ve noticed that many people today think showing “love” means accepting and supporting everything someone does — even when it’s clearly against God’s Word. But when believers try to speak truth, they’re often shamed or accused of being judgmental often criticized for not showing love

It made me think of Proverbs 27:5, which says, “Open rebuke is better than hidden love.” If we truly love someone, we won’t support them in something that harms their soul or goes against God. Real love calls for truth — even when it’s uncomfortable.

Love without truth isn’t love at all; it’s just approval. God’s love isn’t shallow — it corrects, disciplines, and leads to righteousness.
