Should Christian women ask men out?
Hello to everyone reading this. I am writing to seek some advice as a 25 year-old Christian woman who never experienced romantic love and never had a relationship. I work in a store in a shopping centre, and on January this year a stand opened in the middle of the shopping centre where I work. I was walking past it on my way to open the store and I notice this handsome man who looks very smart and kind working on that stand. Back then I thought about approaching him and it took me days to gather the courage to do it, and when I finally decided to walk up to him, he left the stand and walked away. I believe he was on his break because I did wait for him to come back but after a while, as I needed to get to work, I gave up and walked away. To my surprise, as soon as I got on the escalator to go up, he was going down. On the escalator. At the same time. And our eyes met. Andddd that’s everything that has ever happened because months later, now December, all I can do is walk past him. That’s it. I walk past him, sometimes I hope he sees me, and sometimes I hope he doesn’t. Sometimes I find myself wondering what his name is and sometimes I try to convince myself that that time on the escalator was a sign from God telling me that we shouldn’t meet. It’s been months, after all, and I don’t plan on approaching him because I feel like when the time is right, God will make it happen. Right? I know this is silly and just a harmless little crush, but I can’t stop wondering whether it would be sinful for me to approach someone who caught my interest or not. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a blessed day/night.

Dear one, your feelings are not silly, they are a beautiful part of being human. There is no sin in approaching someone who has caught your interest, as long as you do so with respect and kindness. Remember the words in Proverbs 31:25: “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
Your patience and trust in God’s timing demonstrate great faith. But remember, sometimes God’s plans for us require action on our part. As it is said in the book of James 2:26, “For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.”
Pray about this, ask God for guidance and courage. But also, remember that love requires courage and action. Do not fear, for God is with you. As it says in Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Peace be with you, dear one.
